How to Submit Your Work

 

 Publishing with us is simple:  

 Send us your project, and we’ll take it from there.



After you submit:

- We read and evaluate your work carefully.  

- We check that it follows our editorial policies.  

- We discuss it internally and may offer suggestions to help strengthen your project.  

- If your submission isn’t approved, we’ll explain why and what you can adjust to get it ready for approval.  

- Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Your comic will then go live on our website and be promoted across our media channels.



How the Campaign Works



Every approved project enters a pre‑order campaign. The goal is simple: reach the minimum target needed to move into printing.



During the campaign:

- There is no time limit until the minimum goal is reached.  

- We promote your work everywhere we can — and you’re encouraged to promote it too.  

- Once the minimum goal is achieved, an extra one‑month period opens to gather as many pre‑orders as possible.  

- After that month, your comic goes into printing.  

- As soon as we receive the printed copies, we begin shipping them to readers.



How Much Will My Comic Cost?



The final price depends on several factors, including:

- Page count  

- Format (Comic Book or Manga)  

- Colour or black & white  

- Shipping costs  



Example:  

A standard US style 24‑page monthly issue is sold at £4.99 + shipping.



Payments & Profit Share



At Elephant Shrew Comics, we avoid the traditional artist publisher distributor model.  

We’re creators ourselves, and we know how hard it is to earn real money when self‑publishing or working with conventional publishers.



That’s why we use a clear and fair profit‑sharing system:  

60% / 40% split.



After all copies are distributed, you receive 40% of the total profit from your comic.



How to Make Your Campaign Successful



Promotion is a team effort. The more people who discover your project, the stronger your campaign becomes.



You can help by:

- Sharing it on your social media  

- Promoting it at work, school, or in your community  

- Showing off your art, characters, and story concept  

- Avoiding spoilers — readers love surprises.
